When I put these on both of my kids said I looked taller.Hands down most comfy jeans i own. They still have those options for people who want it, but they also carry good basics for those of us who do not want the branding.Personally I find the extreme flex to be plenty stretchy enough in the slim style.Nothing too bad for the price point however. But thanks, your article was helpful.Only thing is they fade quite a bit
You haven't been paying attention, clearly.I wear the same pair of jeans every single day: Duer Jeans.I never had jeans that lasted that long and we're great for everyday wear. They are starting to really show some wear at the seems by the hips, and show a clear white outline of where my phone sits in my pocket and where my wallet sits, but other than that they are still going strong.Flex jeans are life.I haven't seen the flex jeans, but they don't seem thin to me.I cannot believe the quality.

14.03.2019 - Yep, this is why everyone.I just wish there were.INSERTKEYSWill likely replace them eventually a bit more washes.American Eagle has become my with another pair.Last updated : This morning. It is soft and actually. The new Basics comes at now for FREE to: EUR.
On a side note, after having fallen into the rabbit hole that is raw denim, I can never go back to stretch or any other "processed denim".I enjoy putting wear on my jeans and seeing the progression as it fades and loosens up.For sure, it's not for everyone. At first the denim is very rough and it can be very expensive. Also a lot of people take issue with washing their pants twice a year vs twice a week. But I think I've honestly gotten much more out of them as far as quality, looks and personal satisfaction while watching fades develop. To be fair, my jeans are skin tight, but the comfort is so much more important than wear and fades now. It's "normal" jeans that suck, they never last long and don't stretch, aren't comfortable.IMO the whole point of jeans is comfort and durability. The stretch is key.Last time I went jean shopping, I tried on four different styles of Levi's in search of a repeat of the best fitting pair I've ever owned, and the only ones that fit turned out to contain elastane. They only had a single style with this blend, so I only bought one, but regret not getting more because I've been wearing them almost every single day since. The elastic ones are comfortable, but they don't seem to last as long.I try to avoid them now.I have some Levi's that are elastic and are still going strong after almost 2 years of regular wear.Sometimes daily wear. They are starting to really show some wear at the seems by the hips, and show a clear white outline of where my phone sits in my pocket and where my wallet sits, but other than that they are still going strong.I didn't get their jeans, but I got some flex shorts and Tshirts without branding and I was surprised at how comfortable and nice they looked.Usually buying clothes comes at a comprise for having an athletic body where for tshirts I have to choose between a too tight chest or a waist for a gut. What colors have you gotten and are they as thin as flex jeans?I'm really looking forward to getting these, I usually hate wearing shorts.I got a tan almost khaki pair that are nice and I also got an olive one, which they unfortunately didn't have online when I looked again at the store.Sing it sister.Being in shape makes it impossible to find well fitting clothes in America.Especially the Midwest.Might be a plug because I work for them, but their jeans are amazing.Currently wearing the Flex Slims. The flex jeans are the only ones I can wear after leg day. Also, their joggers are amazing too.I bought a pair of jeans joggers and they feel like sweatpants.Their stuff also lasts a long time too.I still have jeans that I've owned for 4 years from them they don't fit anymore, but I've never had to throw out a pair like I had to with DKNY or other brands.AE jeans are super durable.Been wearing the pair I have on for 6 years now.Faded quite a bit and some regions are thinning but otherwise a very well made jean.True story.I don't wear jeans often anymore due to work and whatnot, but the only pair of jeans I own are AE and I've had them for years. Not a rip or defect anywhere. Will likely replace them eventually with another pair. But really tho, the flex jeans work with my waist to thigh and calf ratio.I always had an issue and I'd have to get a waist size or 2 larger to work with my legs.I'm telling you it's worth it so bad.I needed to find jeans like them a while ago, and I came here.I bought 3 AE ones for that price this was right before I started working there. They are so comfy it's insane.I just wish there were a bit more washes. The ones I have usually aren't my style so it's taking me a bit to accept the fact that they aren't what I usually wear.Just kinda weird going from skinny jeans at Uniqlo to this looser comfier fit.I need help accepting it.Are you checking online or in store?I know we stocked quite a few different ones in all different shades, and online has even more in more sizes.I might have to check them out.I bought some AE boxers that nearly changed my life after they were mentioned in a Reddit thread.I just never think to shop there because none of their shirts fit me.I vow to always get their jeans and underwear, even before I started working there.Their stuff is comfortable and durable. Most people assume it's only for high schoolers, but their stuff lasts far after that! They tend to have something for everyone.Logo tees, plain tees, button ups, and they do tend to have a good amount of styles for the jeans.Even if it's just a lookover, I'd say go in.What's the deal with the different fabrics and levels of stretch for each color?I want to get some of the black flex ones but they are nothing like the dark blue ones I've got.Way less stretchy and soft. All the other ones just can't compare to these, they are like wearing sweatpants.Personally I find the extreme flex to be plenty stretchy enough in the slim style.I used to like their joggers but I don't really like the new designs. The drop crotch is too dropped and the waistband string is too damn long.I get why they did it - to compete with fast fashion. It's purely an athleisure piece now. They'll refund anything with a receipt and give store credit if not. There's no time limit. Here they are. Most will be labeled Flex if they are.My girlfriend thinks I'm lame read: 14 years old for wearing AE, but the flex jeans and chinos are incredible. They are the only one of those stores that understood that their target market was growing up and they weren't going to keep appealing to high schoolers forever. They changed a large portion of their offerings and are now a respectable store for adults.Pretty much.I think the financial crisis in was part of it too though. They knew high school kids definitely didn't have any money, so they went "hey young adults, you liked us and still have money right? The financial crisis deeply affected the teenage mall brands and really was a turning point for all of them, the big 3 being Abercrombie, American Eagle, and Aeropostale.Hollister was the only one turning a profit because it was the lowest pricepoint, but only barely.Jeffries CEO at the time was also really stubborn and wouldn't budge from his ways even when in the red.He refused to do sales no matter how poorly product was selling, wanted prominent logos on everything, refused to use the color black at all wtf?Sorry for the barely related tangent, just had my memory triggered is all.I remember one year they removed their logo from a bunch of items to market to a more adult crowd.Definitely worked. Is that true?I used to love shopping at AE in the mid to late s because their bootcut jeans were absolutely my style, but the past few times I've been in one not in the last couple years I felt like an old man and nothing appealed to me.Yeah I mean it's still just very casual, but they have definitely widened their variety and quality. In my early 30s now.Wore their stuff for close to 15 years.Their button down casual shirts fit better than anything from any other store.Anyway I loved their stuff and was quite sad when they closed it.My point is I think they learned a lot from that and incorporated some of the concepts back into AE.They still try to thread the needle between the HS chic and solid staples and I think they do it well.Just my cents.I'm 32 and still buy a lot of basics at AE.I've been able to find good pieces there for the last decade or so.Mostly been forced to since I am around an XS-S so there used to not be many options that had that size.AE always surprised me in basic jeans, chinos, shorts, tees, button-ups.I could get a lot with no logo on the chest, no distressing on the jeans, etc. They still have those options for people who want it, but they also carry good basics for those of us who do not want the branding.Feel bad that they closed their stores in Toronto and I never went for liquidation sales.Their slim straight jeans got me through college.Rugged AF.Levi's don't have enough belt loops. If the fit is even a little loose, the waistband goes wonky.Hahaha I had an ex who gave me the exact same line.Made me move to Jcrew, but I've been super happy with them as well! For a second I misinterpreted that to mean your girlfriend was 14 years old I was like woah what.Jk we good fam.Every year I tell my family not to buy me clothes for Christmas, but every year they do and I take everything back and feel bad about it.Got AE flexfit jeans and chinos this Christmas and love them.Made years of awful clothing presents all worth it.Are they?In the past I've had quality issues with their chinos but haven't tried the newer flex ones.I only recently quit, but I worked at an AE for 8 months.I have a couple pairs that I use a ton and still fit extremely well.I've got 4 pair, all of them are starting to split in the butt.Giving them a patch though.I can't get rid of them; they're just too comfy.I bought these yesterday and they're amazing! I'd never shopped at AE before and now I'm planning to go back for a couple other colors.I bought a couple pairs of the extreme flex chino a few months back and they are so comfortable and the stretch is surprisingly nice.Definitely pick up a pair they tend to have pretty frequent sales on them too. These are some of my favorite.Since I have to wear business casual and ride my motorcycle to work, the flex chinos really work well on the bike. Most pants do not offer the flexibility and stretch I need while riding.Their jeans are comfortable, but for me, they aren't tapered enough at the ankle for my liking.I haven't got any recently, but I got their skinny fit and just sized up and they fit pretty great.Have you seen their extreme flex super skinny jeans?I have those and they're pretty tapered at the ankle, like joggers pretty much but better looking.AE employee here.We do carry a slim taper in the extreme flex. There are four different options in store right now, at least.I'd argue that they're actually a tighter fit overall to the skinny.Favorite budget jeans. The flex ones are so comfortable I could wear them light sweatpants. The fit is great for me too.I wear skinnies but I'm thinking of trying the slim-tapered I prefer a slim-straight thigh but pretty skinny calf and ankle, so these might be good. They're great jeans, and you can wash and dry them a bunch of times without issues.Mine feel like they're molded to me.Shit is dope.I might get more when I get my tax returns. The slim fit, low waist jeans are all I wear now, and I used to hate wearing jeans.Leggings are different.Adding it to mens jeans is just now getting popular. This makes me happy.I used to buy AE for the price and the fact less brands carried a 36 inseam..But for whatever reason the crotch seam was always a timebomb liability for me.I'll have to go try some on again. So shocked to see this on here.I've been repping these jeans for the last 6 months. Also, couldn't imagine wearing anything else after leg day.You should check out the target denizen jeans, they are Levi's target brand.Anyway I thought it was cheesy at first how they have an elastic comfort waist, but they are so much more comfortable than my s it's ridiculous.I have a pair of these and I'm not a huge fan. They are a little too thin and don't have a great denim texture look.I think they look closer to a chino but that's because I have them in tan and black.I like my old navy flex jeans better.I have 4 pairs of these and they're just the best.I do a lot of moving around when I'm working and I always was limited by my jeans until I found these.I never want another kind.Yup, I'm 5'6" and recently gained 20 lbs from weightlifting.Bad news was a lot of my other AE jeans are super tight now, and my raw denim?Forget about it.But I recently went up 1 in waist size and got the flex jeans in slim.Oh man they are amazing, they still offer a good silhouette not too wide and are so comfy to wear.Years ago I was told by a friend employed by AE at the time that you can return used jeans and either replace or get credit for a new pair.Super comfy I can do high kicks in mine.Watching out for your body rolls.I bought AE jeans from age I always liked the fit, but found they would wear quickly and develop holes.Nothing too bad for the price point however. An alternative are the new Levi I have three pairs and swear by them.I used to only wear Lucky Brand their good stuff, not the outlet stuff but Levi has converted me with the These jeans will loosen up significantly over the coming weeks and months, maybe even to the point of being too loose.Same with the Uniqlo Slim Fit, he should size down.My all-time favorites were the dark Jordache jeans so popular in the s.Top dollar. They used to come in many colors, including black, indigo, light blue, gray, brown, and green.Gap skinnies look good to me.This is a very helpful article.Have you tried them?Great fabric, slim fit! Highly recommend you give them a shot.Great comparison article! That makes having some stretch ones to the denim more important than on standard jeans.Good call! Just a comment about the Gap.For quality and fit, the Gap is unbeatable for me.I go with the Standard fit, which is as roomy a jean as I can take.My second is LuckyBrand , but they are probably bigger than you care for.Rise is an interesting topic.A lower rise is good for me, which is opposite what a lot of people suggest for shorter men.Peter Manning, for this reason, is out for me.Good point re: rise. Most shorter men have shorter legs, but if you have long legs in relation to your torso low rise jeans are fine.I forgot to mention… I actually think the Peter Manning look the best on you for a casual outfit.Maybe not the best to pair with a blazer though.Great topic for a post.As much as I loved showing off my selvedge, they were too tight at the thighs and crotch.I just got a pair of the miracle air.Super light weight and comfortable, but they only come in slim straight and are too big all around. Also I already have a Girlfriend. What a great post! Your advice though goes well beyond just slim fit younger guys and your views are relevant to us guys over 50 even if barely! We survived parachute pants, dad jeans, cargo pants and puffy shirts so I am optimistic we will survive the era of super skinny jeans and not so skinny joggers! You are spot on with PMNY.All the proportions and fit are just right.Still, I wish they would offer some more fashionable choices and keep telling them so.Too skinny, and for me, not age appropriate at all.APC was also too tight in the thigh.I guess they have adapted their cut since I last tried 5 years ago.So I leave you with a suggested topic for your next post: how to take care of those perfect jeans.Appreciate the great content Brock! Great comparison article, Brock! They are actually not skinny, but slim fit jeans with a much skinnier taper at the leg than the s.One tip from experience: If possible, try on at least 2 pair of the same jeans you like, because jeans vary a lot in sizing, and one of those pairs might actually fit you better than the other.I was a major devotee of G-Star for years, and I still wear many pairs.PRPS have probably become my favorite jean producers: Their styling is unlike every other jean company out there, and their jeans are exceptionally comfortable.Sorry rambling: On how yours looked, i think the medium to darker blues look better on you than the lighter ones.Your 2 and 3 looked pretty good on you — the darkness of the blue helps to hide the out of proportion pockets — most of the others were just way way out of proportion one place or another. Thanks for showing all of these.Great job on the video and the jean review.I recently bought a pair of CK slim. When I put these on both of my kids said I looked taller. They fit snug at first but then you learn to love them and everything else feels baggy.I agree that some of the GAP stuff is actually good.I recently heard their chinos fit nicely.I bought a pair of slim stretch and they fit similar to those jeans and they look good when you cuff them.I have to chime in again here as I was looking at these pics and noticed something.Brock, you may not be the supper-skinny guy you think they are.Despite my hatred of skinny style, I concede some guys look decent in skinny cuts.Usually they are very narrow body types. This creates an unbalanced look top to bottom, especially in relation to the calves. Also, I think many smaller guys are about half a head less than average, which might be This also creates a bit of an unbalanced look top to bottom.I would have to agree with a lot of the guys here.Maybe if they were a darker rinse you might get away with them looking alright. The Uniqlo Skinny along with a couple other skinny ones seem to have too shallow of a rise. The rise meets up with the hem of your shirt and looks very odd.To add my own research, as a slim short guy I have struggled a lot with jeans until somewhat recently.Thank you for being my turning point in clothing fit.Brock, ignore all the claims that the Gap pair is too skinny on you.On your body, if anything those Gap jeans are slim—certainly not skinny. If you want a slim cut, the Gap jeans fit your body type best.Hey Brock, I have this problem. What is your experience with this?Is my only option to take these to a tailor and get them tapered? One of my close friends is very short and usually finds it difficult to pick the right jeans.I have bookmarked this page for him.Hope, it will be helpful for him. Thanks a lot.Great article! I love the the pair I have right now because are the exact length I needed them when I left the store. These jeans work very well.Another trick if they fit well is wear them in a hot bath, the fabric will shrink — a little — hopefully to your shape.Wear them as they dry pick a nice day.Seems do the trick! I just got a premium jean from Zara size This pair fit me great and made me realize that the leg opening to far too big on the levis.I can relate to Brock.Gap and Levis looks perfect. You may also wanna try Levis Skinny! But thanks, your article was helpful.I would avoid wearing any kind of low rise jeans.

was always a timebomb liability for me.I'll have to go try some on again. An alternative are the new Levi I have three pairs and swear by them.I used to only wear Lucky Brand their good stuff, not the outlet stuff but Levi has converted me with the Just a heads up, this will probably happen with your AE flex jeans as well.I own 3 pairs of extreme flex, one has bit the dust, others are going strong.Unfortunately you can't have both the flexibility of elastane and the ruggedness of non-stretch jeans, not without paying a lot more for Outlier and similar stuff anyways. They actually lasted longer than my pair of BR Traveler's Denim.Honestly at the price point I don't mind. It's worth mentioning that even if the jeans fall apart, you can return them in store with or without receipt for a refund or an even exchange if we have it in stores. We even take underwear back for fuck's sake.I've had two pairs of the flex jeans for a year and a half now. They're the only jeans I wear now unless I'm doing yardwork or something dirty.Very inexpensive and the build quality is impressive for the price.I love my AE jeans so I'm must evangelize.I have a pair that I had for about I never had jeans that lasted that long and we're great for everyday wear.Old Navy has started putting flex in their jeans too.I never thought I'd be wearing ON jeans I was in the same exact boat.Uniqlo for years because they were the most comfortable, walked past AE about 4 days ago and liked the tint of one of their flex jeans, tried them on and both them on the spot.I cannot believe the quality.I've been wearing 's forever, but I just recently got 2 pairs from AE.I'm 6'5" and their 36" pants seem a little longer than my 's, but the comfort was so surprising. The 's do have elastane but not as much as the AE jeans.I have been wearing their skinny flex jeans for over year now and I can say that I'd rather wear these jeans than sweatpants any day.Same deal. The comfort in these are amazing. You haven't been paying attention, clearly.Unfortunately, this four is alllll about skinny jeans. In fact it is basically the opposite of what you describe. It's like ordering a cheeseburger at a restaurant and then getting mad at the waitress for bringing it to you because you're vegan.I have the same size in s and AE skinny, and the AE's fit a lot better.Got the skinny's a while ago though so I'm not sure how they compare but I'm pretty sure they're the same.I have found that 's and levi's in general are cut inconsistently, even in the same wash.Highly recommend you give them a shot.Great comparison article! But thanks, your article was helpful.I would avoid wearing any kind of low rise jeans.I personally think it elongates the leg but in the wrong way.It looks very effeminate and childish.Mid-rise is the sweetspot. As a short man myself, the least thing I would want is to look less mature.Just my personal opinion.Low rise jeans actually shorten the legs visually.High rise makes your torso look shorter and legs look longer.Good rule of thumb: If you have a thigh gap like you have the gap skinny jeans the rise is probably too low.Skip to primary navigation Skip to main content Skip to primary sidebar Skip to footer.
